Boarding.no : Air Berlin to fly Bournemouth

Air Berlin is launching a new route from Bournemouth to Paderborn from the 17 December 2005. An Air Berlin 737-800 aircraft will service this route up to three times a week on Monday, Thursday and Saturday mornings.

The route has been moved from Southampton to Bournemouth due to Bournemouth’s longer runway being more suited to cope with the technical demands of a fully occupied and fully fuelled aircraft. Additionally, the move caters to the high demand from Air Berlin’s customers in and from the South West of England.

The flight times are as follows: Bournemouth 08:05 h – Paderborn 10:30 h / Paderborn 07:00 h – Bournemouth 07:20 h. every Monday, Thursday and Saturday

7. Paderborn is home to the huge 'Libori' festival, which is ceremoniously heralded by the ringing of the Cathedral bells.

8. 5000-year-old writing tablets, historical typing machines and computers, the first PCs and the latest software developments are all on display at the Heinz Nixdorf Museumsforum (HNF) in Paderborn. The HNF is the largest computer museum in the world and features in the Guinness Book of Records.

9. Paderborn is home to the German Tractor and Model car Museum. Around 120 antique tractors and a collection of 10,000 model cars are on display at the "Deutsche Traktoren und Modellauto Museum".

10. The City Gallery "Am Abdinghof" has contemporary collections that are well worth seeing, including over 80 works by Ella Bergmann and Robert Michel, considered to be pioneers in the art of collage.
