Riga Fashion Week starts 2 November
This autumn the Riga Fashion Week will be held from 2 - 5 November.

Riga Fashion Week 2005 is organised by the Baltic Fashion Federation (BBF) under the patronage of the President of Fédération Française du Prêt-à-Porter Feminin and Paris Capital de la Creation, Mr. Jean-Pierre Mocho. The Riga Fashion Week will this year take place at The Stock Exchange Hall and Riga Fashion House Demonstration Hall in the Old town of Riga.

The leading fashion designers from the Baltic states: Latvia (Alexander Bibergal, Asnate Smeltere, Gints Bude, Davids, Keita, Zanete Auzina, Mare & Rol`s, Natalija Jansone, Inese Lapsina, Marina Medvedeva, Kupiansky and others), Lithuania (Julija Zileniene, Ramune Piekautaite) and Estonia (Oksana Tandit, Triinu Pungits, Bastion), as well as designers from Russia and France will present their collections.

The prominent French designer Gaspard Yurkievich will be presenting his collection as an a guest of honour. The guest of honour from Russia will be Alena Akhumadullina.

Latvian round of the international contest of the young designers "Couturier of the year" will be held in the framework of the Riga Fashion Week.

According to the international standards Riga Fashion Week is organised twice per year. This will be the third time Riga Fashion Week is organised by the Baltic Fashion Federation.

Riga has always been a Fashion City. The city now tries to get back its reputation as one of the key fashion centres in Northern Europe.
