The Latvian airline airBaltic has introduced a new product to the market – the prepaid mobile telephone card airBalticcard Mobile. It will allow people to receive free-of-charge incoming calls when they are abroad, as well as to make calls for substantially discounted prices. The services are being offered in cooperation with the Telecom Discount and the world’s leading telecommunications companies.

- Over the last few years, increasing numbers of people have chosen to use airline services when they go on business or leisure trips. At the same time, travellers have increasingly wanted to communicate with friends, families and business partners while abroad. By offering this prepaid mobile phone card which allows clients to receive free-of-charge calls while abroad, airBaltic is willing to ensure its passengers and all travellers can enjoy cost-saving communications services at their destination and when they return home from the trip. The product shows that airBaltic really cares for the comfort of its clients not just during the flight, but also during their entire trip. When the owner of the airBalticcard returns home, he or she will not have to face the unpleasant surprise of a huge phone bill for calls made and received in another country.”

The free incoming calls will be available in more than 50 countries in the world, including Russia, most European countries, and popular tourist destinations such as Turkey, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Cyprus and others. In other countries, the cost of incoming calls is quite low – EUR 0.09/min.

An extensive network of operators and partners also allows clients of the airBalticcard Mobile system to enjoy cost-saving tariffs for mobile calls all around the world – from EUR 0.39/min. for outgoing calls.

The airBalticcard Mobile card can be used with any GSM telephone that is not adapted for use in a specific network. The unified international number will remain valid for two years after the last call is made, which means that the card can be used during the client’s next international trip. The mobile card and the cards to add credit to the system will be available during all airBaltic flights, at ticket offices, and on the Internet at www.airbalticcard.com . The Internet site will also allow clients to view the list of calls which they have made and the amount of credit which they have remaining. The site also makes it possible to send SMS messages.
